Brendan Lenko is a professional engineer and well known as an ice rink specialist. As a leader of Energy Ice he has over 10 years experience in ice rink projects ranging from curling clubs and studio rinks to municipal / community rinks to NHL, Olympic, Championship Curling, Figure Skating, and other major facilities.

Throughout his career, Brendan has been involved in over 300 ice rink energy conservation projects ranging from low emissivity ceilings, refrigeration systems and controls, heat recovery systems, ice temperature controls, and more.

He has designed and installed ice quality products for major facilities including NHL rinks like Toronto’s Air Canada Center, Madison Square Garden and Olympic venues specially designed for Olympic figure skating, curling and speed skating.

As an expert in the field Brendan has developed rink energy analysis and computer simulation models that estimate energy savings and predict how ice quality and temperature will perform under various conditions. In fact, in providing expert testimony in an ice rink legal case Mr. Lenko’s ice computer model was used to provide evidence of the ice conditions during one specific accident.

Brendan has published various articles dealing with both ice quality and energy conservation in ice rinks. Some of these are available on this Web site.
